Available drivers
Win'Design Database allows generation and reverse
for the main DBMS of the market, for example : Access (2.0, 2000),
CA-DATACOM/DB8, DB2, Empress, FOX Pro, Informix, Ingres, Magic (6.0), MYSQL,
Natstar, NSDBR, Oracle (6 à 9i), Paradox (4.5, 5.0), PostgresSQL, Progress 7.3,
RDB (4.0, 4.2, 5 et 6), SQL AS400 (certifié Version 4.30), SQL Base 6.0, SQL
Générique, SQL Server (6.x, 7.x), Sybase 4.9.1, Sybase System 11, Uniface,
Unify, Universe (7.0, 8.x), Watcom Server 4.0, ...
Win'Design provides a configuration module that allows all the language specificities
descriptions to match up the charcateristics of each DBMSs.
Drivers are therefore user-definable.

PROGRESS, edited by Progress
Software France
Total adequacy
with each environment
- Same dialog boxes
as those of the target environments
-
Extended characteristics for the tables and columns allowing a
quick modelling of the client interfaces (varying according to the
targets) : triggers, validation rules, format, help, graphical format
and use values
- Initialization of some extended values from the
LDM characteristics.
Script
generation
- Target
implementation environment dictionary fed by script
- Create and update mode
Reverse
Engineering
- Reverse engineering
from the implementation environment
- Extended characteristics recovery
- Same reverse engineering process as from a database
Benefits
- Extensive concepts description capacity
- Extended entity-relationship modeling (Merise/2)
- Generation and reverse engineering of most
of the available DBMS
- Automatic generation : CDM <--> LDM,
CDM <--> Class diagrams (Object
module required)
- Automatic graphical location optimization
of the diagrams which have been generated.
