Updating
configuration (standard profile)
Available in patch

1 - Configuration of
Win'Design
The configuration parameters that impact
the modeling, concerns :
- The diagrams definition in the
Business Process module ("Options" menu -"Processing
models parameters")
- Stereotypes / extended characteristics
("Options" menu - "Standard profile")
- Graphical options ("Standard
profile")
- Palettes ("Standard profile")
- The wizard displayed at Win'Design
start up enabling the choice of the type of diagram ("Parameter"
in this wizard)
Especially in the Business Process module,
in which new types of diagrams can be defined, it is required to
preserve the coherence of all these configurations.
The files containing these parameters are
:
- windsign.mt : at the root of
the "Data" directory of Win'Design installation -->
Configuration of the diagrams of the Business Process module
- standard.cfg : in the "Data\Config"
directory --> Profile
- windsign.dtc : in the "Data\startup"
directory --> Win'Design start up wizard (diagrams)
The path to these files can be changed
with the "Default folders" function in the "Options - Preferences"
menu.
Select "Win'Design folders - Path
name" :
- CONFIG for the file : standard.cfg
- STARTUP for the file : windsign.dtc
- USER for the file : windsign.mt
Nota : the other configuration
files are not concerned by this update (DBMS drivers, edition forms,
...).
2 - In which case to do this
updating ?
The parameters updating can be done in
the following cases :
- Parameters modifications broadcasting
between users using standalone versions.
- Installation of an update or a new
version of Win'Design
- Merging of several profiles created
independantly
Nota : In all cases, we advice
you to save the previous versions of these files, to be able to
restore them if an incident occures, especially at the installation of
an update of Win'Design, when these parameters files can be writtten
over on option.
3 - Function
